Monday

Funny what a Monday can seem like to some people. I think specifically of that phrase, “a classic case of the Mondays,” and to me I think that is the norm. People think of Monday as getting back to the grind, clocking back in, maybe pushing through the hangover.

But for me—and I’m sure a select few of us out there—Mondays can seem different… well, maybe not the hangover part.

Mondays are a time when I get to make plans, knowing I won’t have to work. On a Monday I get to do the grocery shopping I put off for two weeks and be greeted by empty lanes (aside from a few retired folks). On Monday I get to hash out what happened on the weekend and look forward to a couple days to accomplish things that might change the next weekend.

What I’m trying to say is it’s crazy how a couple of different life choices can make someone’s perspective on something completely different from another person’s. One person views Monday one way, another person views it another way.

I think the importance of seeing this is understanding that every person will always be a little different, or think about things a little differently, even simply based on the life they’re living. If we can try to understand this, maybe we can try to understand each other a little better.
